Matlock Town Church of England Primary School
Administrative History
A school was founded in Matlock Town under the terms of the will of George Spateman in 1647. A new purpose built school house was erected in 1870 and enlarged in 1889, catering for mixed juniors and infants. The school closed in 1991, and was amalgamated with Starkholmes CE Primary School (See D3516) to form Matlock St Giles CE Primary School.
Custodial History
The records were deposited with this office by the headteacher of Matlock St Giles School in July 1994
