Description
The infant school was one of the Kirkstead Board Schools and was known as Kirkstead Infants School. It later became known as Church Street County Infants School, before taking the name of John King, a local engineer responsible for improving the safety mechanisms of pit shaft lifts. The records were transferred to the Record Office in June 1994 and September 2000.
