Administrative History | Derby St Peter School began as the St Peter National School in Traffic Street in 1829. It reopened as a girls' school in 1856, having been closed for some time. In 1894 new premises for Girls and Infants were opened in Devonshire Street. From 1924 both departments came under one headteacher. In 1944 the school became St Peter Junior and Infant School. It closed in 1958.
Its connection in the mid-nineteenth century with another school which became Traffic Street Board School (see D5111) is not clear. |
