Archive Creator	St Chad's School, Derby
Administrative History	St. Chad's School, Gordon Street, was erected in 1888. It began as a mixed school, and later became a Higher Grade School and finally a senior school. It closed in 1939. St. Chad's Infant School was separate.
Custodial History	Some of these records were held by Derby and South Derbyshire Area Education Office and transferred to Derbyshire Record Office in July 1988 as part of accession number D1458. These records were reaccessioned in October 1993, with additional material transferred from Derby Local Studies Library in March 1994. A further transfer of records from Derby Local Studies Library was made in February 2003.
