DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

Part of the Upper Grounds in Barrowcoate in the parish of Etwall purchased by Samuel Pole esq. 11 May 3 Anne Regina Anno 1704. Scale:of 20 chains or ¼ of an English mile [1:3200]. Size: 35 x 33 cm. Materials: coloured ink on parchment. Centred on: SK275344 Notes: compass points named on edges, west at top. Shows 126 acres named fields with areas and hedge boundaries, Hades Lane Terrell Hey Field, Barnetts Lane all marked. Location: DRO, D3772/ T35/36/1
