DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A Survey of Runnat Intack belonging to the Duke [of Norfolk]. The above is an exact Survey of Runnat Intaek taken by R. Wardleworth. Sept. 1763. Surveyor:R.Wardleworth. Scale: plann'd by 5 chains or 20 Perches in one Inch [1:4000]. Size: 46 x 37 cm. Materials: coloured ink on paper in two parts. Centred on: SK045973 Notes: points of compass noted on sheet, top of sheet south. Shows area NE of Padfield, between Ogden Clough and Deepclough, 95 acres, Intake with adjacent closes and owners, 1 field name, 'Corn intack': single dotted line paths, named as routes, road 'Wood Head to Glossop': gates; houses in elevation, some tenants named: river 'Ithers' [Etherow]: crude but well ornamented rococo style cartouche. A Survey of Blackshaw Clough. June 1764. Size: 24 x 31 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK055965 Notes: no scale or orientation. Shows 5 adjoining fields, 67 acres, with occupiers names and acreage: endorsed 'Blackshaw Clough survey'. Location: DRO, D3705/18/7; see also DRO, D3705/18/8 Terrier.

[Closes on Shire Hill]. Surveyed the 30th November 1764 Surveyor: [R. Wardleworth]. Size: 30 x 37 cm. Materials: ink on paper with watercolour. Centred on: SK053945 Notes: no orientation. Sketch plan similar to above, 22 acres, but two closes omitted and two separate closes in different orientation: centre marked 'Top o th Shire Hill'. Location: DRO, D3705/18/9

2 Pieces of land at Whitebottom above the Nursery and from which the Nursery was taken, held by James Cooper. Nov. 24 1764. Size: 16 x 20 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK975917 Notes: no scale or orientation. Shows 1 acre plot with painted trees and Arnicroft Wood below. Location: DRO, D3705/18/10(ii)
