Archive CreatorSherwood Foresters: Second Volunteer Battalion
Administrative HistoryThe 2nd Volunteer Battalion Sherwood Foresters was disbanded in 1908 and reformed as the 6th Battalion (Territorial Force), this in turn being disbanded in 1922 and reformed as 2/6th Battalion, Sherwood Foresters, Territorial Army in 1939.
Custodial HistoryThese documents were originally owned by the Hunstone family of Tideswell, wood carvers. The collection was donated privately to the Record Office in December 1991 via the Peak National Park, Bakewell.
