Administrative HistoryRecords of the parish of St Mary, Cromford from 1797. Cromford was originally a township in the parish of Wirksworth, but a chapel of ease was built in 1797, when its baptism register opens. It became a separate parish in 1869, including a part of Middleton by Wirksworth. St Mark's Chapel of Ease to St Mary's opened in 1877, but was closed in 1957 and later demolished.
