TitleRolls Royce Silver Ghost motor car. Outside Cat and Fiddle, Buxton, at a rally
Date[1907]
DescriptionThe photograph is endorsed with a note that it was given to F S Ogden in 1961 and that it dated from 1908. However, the same image features in Peter Pugh's book "Rolls-Royce: The Magic of a Name: The First Forty Years of Britain’s Most Prestigious Company, 1904-1944" (Icon Books, 2015) and this dates the photograph to 22 Jun 1907. The photograph is accompanied by a paper caption which identifies the driver of the second vehicle from the left (bearing the registration AX205) as the co-founder of Rolls-Royce, Charles Rolls (1877-1910).
