Description
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
[Parish of Brailsford]. Endorsed 'Gilbert Soresby's Common Piece and his Reldions on Brailsford Green measured by Mr Beeton of Radbourne and set out by him a little after Michaelmas 1764'. Surveyor: Beeton [J.Beighton]. Scale: 1" to a chain [1:790]. Size: 20 x 15 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK243422 Notes: no orientation, north at top. Shows road to Bradley, road to Brailsford Mill: 2 fields Mr. W. Cox, 5 acres and Mr. G Soresby, 5 acres. Location: DRO, D331/14/4
