Title
Printed booklet: pages taken from "An Apology for the Conduct of Mrs. Teresia Constantia Phillips: More Particularly That Part of It Which Relates to Her Marriage with an Eminent Dutch Merchant"
Date
c1747
Description
The booklet contains no front cover or title page, but the text is from "An Apology for the Conduct of Mrs. Teresia Constantia Phillips: More Particularly That Part of It Which Relates to Her Marriage with an Eminent Dutch Merchant", printed in 1748. The text is incomplete, comprising pages i to viii of the Dedication and pages 65 to 120 of the main text.
The subject matter is a law suit for the annulment of the marriage of Henry Muilman (1700–1772) to Teresia Constantia Phillips (1709-1765), the author of the text, whose name is handwritten on the first page. The text is sarcastically dedicated to Muilman.
