Custodial HistoryThese records were transferred to Derbyshire Record Office on the abolition of the County Medical Department in ?1974 and officially deposited by the Superintendent Registrar at Chesterfield Register Office in April 1988. It is unclear how or why the records came into the custody of the Registrar at Chesterfield (New Beetwell Street).
AppraisalNotification of Derbyshire birth registration cards, 1960-1967 were de-accessioned and destroyed in May 2013 having been incorrectly identified as Chesterfield Register Office birth notifications and therefore assumed to be non-archival duplicates of information held elsewhere.
