<P>These are volume bound inletters, covering almost all the period when Sir Robert Wilmot was resident secretary (in London) to the lord lieutenant of Ireland 1740-1772 and deputy secretary to the lord chamberlain of the household, 1758-1772. The majority of the correspondence relates to Ireland, though there is some household material and documents relating to Derbyshire</P>
<P>The first 29 volumes are all in a single format. After that, different covers are used and this sequence begins with 31; there is no gap in the dates between these. The volumes are not bound in absolute chronological order and there is some overlap between volumes</P>
