Title
Bundle of letters from Samuel Fox the elder to his son Samuel studying at Youlgreave. The elder Samuel frequently travelled and his letters are sent from Thurlston Grange, London, Cambridge, Edinburgh and York. In most of the letters the elder Samuel instructs his son on the importance of gentlemanly behaviour, and the benefits of a career in the law. The letters also refer to the birth of Samuel junior's sister Frances Jane (24 Nov 1806), the dissolution of Parliament (6 May 1807), a production of Coriolanus at Drury Lane (15 May 1807), the collection of pictures at Burleigh (23 May 1807)
