Administrative History | Records of Peter Webster School at Whittington Moor which opened in 1876 as an all age mixed school, called Webster's Whittington Moor Endowed School. In 1911 the infants moved to a separate building, (for records of the Infant school, see D3615). The school was re-named Whittington Moor Council School and by 1918 separate boys and girls accommodation was provided. In 1928 the senior girls transferred to a Girls Modem School, Violet Markham School, and the boys school was renamed the Peter Webster Secondary Modern School for Boys. The school closed down in 1967. |
