Administrative HistoryThis school began as a mill school. In 1881, when these records start, it was known as the WG and J Strutt Mill school. According to local directories, the school was built about 1818 and was conducted on Lancasterian principles. Such schools frequently became affiliated later to the British Society, rather than the National Society. The school became a Board School in Apr 1886, and a Council school in 1903. The junior mixed department was closed in 1973 and the first school (infants) was restructured in summer 1986.
Custodial HistoryTransferred to Derbyshire Record Office in January 1986
