DescriptionThe Berrysford Charity was set up by the will dated 1813 of John Berrysford to help the poor widows and children of Chaddesden. The Gilbert Charity was founded by Indenture by Henry Gilbert dated 7 Dec 1680 pursuant to the will of Thomas Gilbert dated 15 Dec 1657, with the aim of providing charity to the poor of Chaddesden. The Wilmot Almshouses Charity was set up by the will of Robert Wilmot dated 1638, providing for their occupants (4 men and 2 women) to receive money out of lands in Chaddesden.
