Administrative HistoryIn his will of 1714, the Reverend Roger Wilkson of Wormhill near Buxton bequeathed lands at Biggin by Hartington to a trust for the establishment of a free school for children from Priestcliff, Taddington, Blackwell and Brushfield. In 1927, the charity founded by this action joined together with the [Michael] White Educational Foundation (founded in 1799), the Church of England School which had been established by Michael White's endowment in 1805, George Brunt's Foundation (founded in 1869) forming the Taddington Educational Foundation.
Custodial HistoryThese records were deposited with Derbyshire Record Office in March 1983 by Messrs Goodwin, Cockerton and Colhoun, Solicitors of Bakewell. A further donation was received in November 2006. Only the accession of November 2006 has been catalogued.
