This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A Survey and Platt of three farms in Ible, within the Parish of Wirksworth and County of Derby. The Estate of the Honr. Sr. Phillip Gell, Bart. Saml. Hutchinson. 1710. Surveyor:Samuel Hutchinson. Scale: of ten chains [1:2400] with dividers. Size: 56 x 69 cm. Materials: coloured ink on vellum. Centred on: SK2557 Notes: 8 point compass rose, north at top. Shows pre-enclosure estate, lands in Gell ownership only, about 90 acres: field names, areas, adjoining owners: strip boundaries are single or dotted lines: roads named as 'way to Long Doles', paths, field boundary trees: some references by conventional signs: Advertisement notes that the farms of three tenants are 'inclosed' in yellow, red and green respectively: late addition of sale lot numbers and owners names: title in geometrical design frame.
