At the back in the same hand is 'The coppie of a letter sent by Q Eliz: to Sir Amias Pawlett Gardian of the Scottish Queene who was then Prisoner in Fotheringhay Castle' thanking him for his faithful performance of his duties in looking after 'soe dangerous and craftie a charge' and asking him to let his 'wicked murtheress knowe how that wth heartie sorrow her vile deserts compelled these orders. And bid her from mee aske god forgiveness for her treacherous dealinge towardes the Saver of her life many yeares to the intollerable p[er]ill of her owne'. [The letter is undated but the content suggests Oct 1586-Feb 1587]
