Description
These maps are described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
Ireton Rough Drafts [1709]. Surveyor:[Sam. Hutchinson]. Scale: no scale shown. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK250503 Notes: south-east at top of sheet. Shows area of The Hays between Hognaston and Kirk Ireton, about 50 acres, fields named and acreage given: adjoining landowners named, Scoolbrook [Scow Brook], footpath 'from Wirksworth to Atlow': Edward Higgit's house marked: endorsed 'Edward Higgits and Anth. Blackwall at ye Heyes'. Location: DRO, D258/35/33/7
