These maps are described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The descriptions read as follows:
Endorsed 'Bakewell' [n.d.1709]. Surveyor: [Samuel Hutchinson]. Scale: no scale shown. Size: 57 x 50cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK210691. Notes: shows strips in open fields, some houses by 'Parsnidg Yard': roads to Ashford and Bakewell, R. Wye, Great and Little Lumford with mill and weir: calculationes around edge and Memo 're surveying at Bakewell'. Location: DRO, D258/35/33/12
[Bakewell n.d.[1709]. Surveyor:[Samuel Hutchinson]. Scale: no scale shown. Size: 18 x 28 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Notes: small plan of Upper Close or Hayshutts and Nether Close or Moor Hayshutts, 4 acres, mainly rough calculations and writing practice. Location: DRO, D258/35/33/13
