These maps are described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
Hognaston. R[ough] Draft [1709] Surveyor: [Sam. Hutchinson]. Size: 35 x 30 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK235515 Notes: rough paper sketch of 'Wm. Truman Abbots Closes': calculations all over both sides. Location:DRO, D258/35/33/1

Rough sketch map, 4 plots (24 acres, 1 acre, 3 acres, 10 acres), plots not necessarily adjacent to each other: small fields with boundaries shown, some houses, fields and occupiers named, acreage given: New Closes adjacent Old Field, Knockadown House: terrier and calculations on reverse.
