Description
This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:
[Plan of Griffe Grange 17c]. Scale: of perches [1:7900].Size: 37 x 25.5 cm. Materials: ink on paper. Centred on: SK244559 Notes: compass rose. Sketch plan, 168 acres, showing the 'Griffe Sheep Walk or that part of it that is not enclosed' and 'The inclosed Part of the Griffe' including 'Hopton Moor, Porthway, Harbour Hill, Mootloe, the wall betwixt the inclosed part of the Griffe and the Sheepwalk, Slater yate, Great Motlowes, Ivenbrooke': endorsed 'The Plott, This is not right according to the description in the Old deeds it being much larger'.
