Description
by his will (1698 - proved 1701) Sir John Fagg bequeathed to Lady Gell £25 a year for life but if she shall survive Sir Philip Gell she is to have £500 within 6 months of becoming a widow - Sir Robert Fagg, by his will (1714 - proved 1715) declared that his father's will should be fully performed and for performing his father's will, he devised the manor of Ashbourne and other estates - as for Grattwix Farm, he devised one moiety to his nephew John Spence in tail male - there is no legacy to Gell or his wife in Sir Robert's will nor is the other moiety of Cowfold mentioned
