Title | Copy agreement re rebuilding Carsington Church - whereas a bargain was made between the inhabitants, freeholders and farmers of Carsington and William Jordan and John Shepheard, masons, concerning the walling of the parish church (May 1648) - and whereas by a letter of recommendation from Quarter Sessions (27 Apr 1647) some money has been collected towards rebuilding the church but not enough to finish the job - the money necessary to complete the rebuilding to be levied on all landholders in the parish, by Richard Buxton, Anthony Gell, William Booth, Edward Buxton, Robert Haywabee and Thomas Hutchinson - those who refuse to pay, to be distrained - those that pay to have seats in the church allotted to them |
