Description
Wishes to repair Gell's bad opinion of him - has been badly treated - marrying against his father in law's wishes, his only fault - his sisters in law approved and promised to get their father's consent - thought he had gained his father in law's approval, but three days later was separated from his wife and imprisoned - has not been able to discover where his wife is - is accused of ill treating his wife but his friends have questioned their servants and neighbours and found him innocent - his father in law has asked him to divorce his wife in return for a passport, which he has refused to do.
