Leather-bound volume entitled `Family Letters Eyre Gell etc', with metal clasp engraved `In Memory of John Nicholas Gell, Bn 4th Feb'y 1805 Ob't 8th Aug't 1836'
18th cent engraving of `Coopersdale Hall, the Seat of Mrs Chevely' [near Epping, Essex] stuck onto first folio
Letters mostly concerned with the Archer family of Welford near Newbury (Berkshire) and Coopersale (Essex) [descendents of William Eyre of Holme near Chesterfield, possibly related to John Eyre who inherited the Gell estates on death of Sir Philip Gell in 1719]; volume also includes some family correspondence of Philip Eyre Gell (d 1795) and Philip Gell (d 1842)
