Title
Appointment by John Ray and Elizabeth Sutton Ray in favour of their children, under the power limited to them in D255 M/F 4 namely that after the decease of the survivor, all the hereditaments in the Schedule (the Heanor Hall Estate, 104a 3r 17p) shall be charged with the payment to George Henry Ray, their eldest son, of £5000, to be raised by sale or mortgage, with one third part of the money to be held in trust for G.H. Ray, Jane Elizabeth Ray and Sophia Frances Ray (their three children), with the proviso that this appointment can be revoked by any deed or writing during the lifetime of John and Elizabeth Sutton Ray.
