DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

Survey of a Piece of Ground called the Banks Lying in Ashleyhay by Mr. Sam Hutchinson of Carson taken in year 1721 And alotted by him and his Assistants Jon. Blackwale and [-] Bower of Cawloe to the persons under mentioned. Surveyor: Samuel Hutchinson with John Blackwall and Mr Bower. Scale: of 5 chains [1:4000] Size: 36 x 24cm. Materials: ink on paper.Centred on: SK297515. Notes: rough sketch of private enclosure, 32 acres: 1 house in elevation: 'a piece left for a common watering': note about fencing.Location: DRO, D2535M/1/1.
