Administrative HistoryBurbage was originally a hamlet in the parish of Hartington, and township of Hartington Upper Quarter. Christ Church, Burbage, was built in 1861 as a district church within the parish of Hartington and in 1869 the district became a separate parish. In 1975 it was merged with neighbouring parishes to form the united parish of Buxton with Burbage and King Sterndale.
Custodial HistoryThe records were deposited in Derbyshire Record Office in a number of consignments, beginning in 1981.
