This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

[Plan showing Meadow Place and land between Nether and Over Haddon.1528]. Surveyor:[? Richard Howton]. Scale: no scale shown. Size: 60 x 50 cm. Materials: coloured paint on paper. Centred on: SK201658

Notes: cardinal points, north at top,. Shows Lathkill Dale, Over Haddon, roads, field-names and landownership: closes of Meadowplace and adjacent fields and commons, with statements as to rights or ownership: all closes in Meadowplace bounded by a laid hedge, some field names: lines to indicate arable lands: buildings distinctive, in perspective: 'New Byggyng' (Meadowplace) has archway and croft surrounded by red brick wall, timber framed houses in Over Haddon and elsewhere: buildings, cistern, gates, walls and hurdle fences drawn in bird's eye view: two water-mills drawn on their side to show their wheels in the river: endorsed in later hand 'No.65 Over Haddon'. Ascribed to Richard Howton, vicar of Bakewell by E.M.Yates. Made by order of the Court of the Duchy of Lancaster Chamber on 14 February 19 Henry VIII to resolve tenants common rights.
