DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

A Survey of the Kings and Tennants Commons from Womens Cross to Castor Clough of Chapel [en le] Frith in Derby. To Thos. Bagshaw Esqr. is humbly presented by Sam. Hutchinson [1713?]. Surveyor: Samuel Hutchinson. Scale: illegible [1:7600]. Size: 25 x 61 cm. Materials: ink on parchment. Centred on: SK030780 Notes: top of sheet west. Shows divided Commons on Tunstead Moor, east of Roman road running south-east from Elnor Lane Farm to White Hall, 170 acres, with owner or tenants name and areas: roads, paths, gates: simple houses but White Hall shown distinctively with 2 gables and wing: crosses, some named, e.g. 'Womens alias Wilkins alias stump Cross', 'Wean stone cross', 'Lee Cross', ponds: script often illegible through wear: one area, '12 acres - Forrest measure'.
