TitleJohn Jones to Perrin in London: "I received a letter from Messrs. Davidson and Graham with instructions to draw upon them for thirty pounds; my money was thirty guineas and had been due for more than six years, which if I had received in full was but little to what I expected from you after so many promises that you repeatedly made that you would take care and do for me, and that I should not leave you but go and live with you at Kent or where ever you would go to, and was likewise promised by Sir Wilheim FitzHerbert and Mr. Davidson many and many times that if I took care of you that they would see me well rewarded for my attention and care of you. Good sir, you cannot have forgot what you said to me the 1st of Jan 1791 (that being the time I was forced from you by Mr Jacobs, seemingly much against your inclination) that you should not stay long at Clapton, and wished to know where I would be that you might see me when you left there, and many times did you say that Molly should be your house keeper ... but, Oh my God! what did I suffer when at Tanhurst, after a journey of more than two hundred miles to see the gentleman that I had done so much for, turn his back upon me ...". 4 April
