The description reads as follows: Derby Hills T. Kirkland Mensuravit and Del. 1723 [traced from Lord Melbourne's Map of Derby Hills. Nov. 1876]. Surveyor:T. Kirkland. Scale: of 10 chains [1:3200]. Size: 65 x 45 cm. Materials: linen backed paper, coloured ink.Centred on: SK370237 Notes: compass rose. Shows Derby Hills before enclosure with early enclosure at New England, 408 acres, 290 acres in Common Ground, the rest in crofts: roads, bridleways and footways all marked with single dashed line: Caulke Abbey and Caulk Mill drawn in elevation.
