This map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

[a copy of part of Derby Hills Enclosure T. Kirkland mensuravit et delineavit. Ao 1723]. Surveyor: T. Kirkland. Scale: [of 10 chains 1.3200]. Size: 43 x 64 cm. Materials: coloured ink on vellum. Centred on: SK367243 Notes: compass rose, top of sheet west. Commons with some inclosures, 318 acres, owners, 1 field name, houses, woods and ornamental gate to Caulk Park noted: an Explanation distinguishes, 'Great roads, bridle wayes, foot wayes, small brooks or rivulets, the double ditch that parts Derby Hills from the other commons, stone walls, quick hedges, dead fences, Widdow Smith's croft, Hansons croft, Job Toynes croft, Roodes in double ditch 408.1/2'.
