TitleProceedings of Special Sessions
Date1857-1976
DescriptionIn the 19th century Special Sessions meetings were concerned with the appointment of parish officials, such as constables, overseers of the poor and surveyors of the highways, appeals against poor rates, and with licensing victuallers. The licensing records give the name of the licensee, the sign and the place. In the 20th century licensing was their chief concern. In later years, appointments to committees (magistrates courts, probation, licensing and betting licensing) and to the Juvenile Court Panel and Appeals Tribunal were made.
