Description
Describes a "glorious" weekend: grateful to be no longer at work living in Manchester and for the enjoyment of walking. Hopes Ogden's dog will soon recover: mentions Sandy [? the writer's dog]. Has read of a mechanical canary owned by the poet Rogers and wonders whether Ogden might add one to his collection. Comments on acquisition of the Shakespeare portrait and on valuation: cites a communication in 1838 from "E. B. B." to H S Boyd about sale of a Shakespeare autograph. Has has two items about E. B. B. published in"M G". A defaced picture is being put right by the artist. Ernest proof-reading a book, the author being a donor of Lancaster's
