Description
Mentions airmail letter from Joe, brother-in-law, and communication from "Gatley pair", (son and wife Mabel) that has arrived via New Zealand. Has asked Joe to explain some matters about the house: mentions possible alterations. Describes Joe as a shrewd old boy; his daughter Phyllis has been recognised for her service during the war in China. Still looking for a job: observes young unqualified staff in the library. Anticipates that Robinson will appoint an entertainments manager.
