Description
Discusses her thoughts about Hampson brothers, [valuers] and encloses a communication from them [not present]. Asks Ogden to consult his legal friend about possibility of negotiation with the other legatees. She remains reluctant to negotiate with Geoff. Discusses preparations for letting of rooms: but store room and kitchen are now full like a junk shop. Asks about likely sale value of Ernest's Buxton history notes. Alex, domestic help, is ill and not working. Has finished her "job". Anticipates that Nev wanted her to work permanently: she gave way to a more experienced candidate. Intends to get another part-time job. Discusses the hours and pay for the job just ended. Mentions her thoughts at having been away from employment for 14 years. Will be 50 in a month's time: asks for his prayers. Explains why she wishes to stay in Buxton: considers the possibility of getting library work in Manchester would be very limited. Discusses options about letting rooms, but some clearance needed first. Expresses doubts about whether she would be able to get any of the hypothetical jobs he suggests. Mentions Wheatley and Derby House. Did not get to the Wallace Collection. Says a job involving work with books would appeal to her: would try her best at any job within her ability. Her kitchen shows her abiity as a decorator. Asks for his advice about registering at the labour exchange.
