DescriptionAppreciates the reassurance of his letter but continues to feel downhearted at what needs to be done in the house. Acknowledges his suggestion of using items with family inscriptions (which she lists) as a lever in relation to other goods, but dreads negotiation with Geoff. Asks about trying an alternative. Has put the other wills in the hands of a new solicitor. Describes actions taken with the autographs file contents. Includes a Thackeray item. She finds herself no longer caring about what happens to items. Discusses the thoughts she and her sisters had at Christmas about the books: lists some topics they cover. Has found folders of indexes: does not understand their significance: also folders titled "Lanc. & Cheshire Ant. Soc." and "Index to Printed Wills: Lanc. & Cheshire". Asks whether the folders might have any value. Lists other items: a dliapidated copy of Seneca; a folder wth pasted images and a scrapbook with cuttings including one referring to the sale of Shakespeare folios. Refers to his violin and discusses the state of hers. Invited to repeat carol service and mentions music for forthcoming nativity play. Has borrowed and enjoyed a book "Brighter Basic": asks about one aspect of vocabulary and lists two deatails [? misprinted letters]. Praises the "7 picture makers". Mentions snowfall and decries her dog's habit of waking her up.
