TitleHandwritten letter from Dora Axon to Charles Ogden
Date22 Dec 1947
DescriptionIgnoring Christmas festivities as much as possible, but mentions cards on mantelpiece and puddings. Sends a few jottings about some of the 600 autographs she has looked at. Asks for advice about what to do with pedigree notes and refers to a "Lancashire and Cheshire clergyman" file. Discusses copies of Ernest Axon's articles: items retrieved from the top floor. Has had a letter from Mrs Aston, Ernest's friendly half sister: reports her suggestions about attempting to "clear the air" with Geoff about how to dispose of books and other items. Dora would prefer to proceed without needing to see him. Intends to follow Ogden's advice to try to get possession of the books. Comments on performance of Messiah: praises the tenor soloist, Ronald Hill. Mentions rehearsal for carol singing at Devonshire Hospital and invitation to play in a quartet at a play at the Spa Hotel.
