Title
Handwritten letter from Dora Axon to Charles Ogden
Date
5 Dec 1947
Description
Expresses thanks for his letter which has lifted her low mood: pleased at his confirmation of her work on Analyses. Intends to work on Ernest's father's Autographs, but will need someone who can help with those difficult to read. Describes letters books just found: doubts their value and is thinking of burning them. Discusses typed Buxton notes: difficult to distinguish notes from finished chapters. Refers to "Uncommon Attorney" (or similar title) by R L Hines and to his work about Hitchin. Found nothing at sale room today but has hopes of getting a gas fire and gas stove next week: will then be able to get the job done. Discusses two letters and postcard from Darwin with references to taking wine and snuff and smoking tobacco. Comments on predictions of a late Spring. Bemoans delay in finalising her aunt's estate. Discusses a footnote in "Basic English versus Artificial Languages".
