Heywood, Buxton weather, gossip in London about the prospects of a Third World War given the situation with Russia, using several editions of Salmon's 'Polygraphice' in relation to "blackhead", photograph of the Shakespeare portrait which may be the dramatist-actor, speculation about India becoming a republic and the consequences for world languages, including English, Russian, French and Hindustani and stating that the "Moslems would probably prefer English", and Ogden's 'Liber Amicorum' [Book of Friends]
