Description
Deed and copy deeds, 18th cent, re administration of Eyam School, all stamped 'Received' by the Charity Commission, 1855. In 1745 Thomas Middleton of Eyam bequeathed lands in Eyam to finance a school market to teach 'five poor boys and five poor girls' to read and write. Another benefactor was Hon and Revd Edward Finch. In 1792 the school premises were purchased by Rev Charles Hargrave and others.
