Administrative HistoryThe church had been given at an early date to the adjacent abbey of Dale. After the dissolution of the monasteries, Stanton Church became a curacy dependent for its stipend on, successively, the Babington and Willoughby families. By 1702 the incumbents of the church were rectors, who also served the Dale Abbey Church as well. In about 1960 Stanton became a united benefice with Dale Abbey.
Custodial HistoryThe records were deposited in the Record Office in various consignments beginning in March 1980. A further deposit was received in May 2021.
