Description	These annual licensing meetings originally took place in Aug, under the terms of the Wine and Beerhouse Act 1869. The registers were divided into sections, dealing with alehouse licences, beerhouse licences, other licences, new licences and transferred licences.Justices assembled at the general annual licensing meeting for the division from 1828, under the Act to regulate the granting of licences, chapter 61. Previously, returns of licensed victuallers were made to Quarter Sessions
