| Description | Eighteen black and white photographs taken at the National Union of Mineworkers' (NUM) Derbyshire Area Annual Conference, held at the Derbyshire Miners' Welfare Holiday Centre in Skegness 26-28 April 1965. Many notable trade union figures feature in the photographs, such as Bert Wynn (Area Secretary), Peter Heathfield (Area President) and Bill Paynter (General Secretary of the national union). Also featured are delegates from Alfreton, the Area Workshops, Boythorpe, B Winning, Coppice No 1, Coppice No 3, Denby, Denby Drift and Washery, the Enginemen and Firemen's section, Grassmoor, Highmoor, Markham, Morton, Ormonde, Pleasley, Renishaw Park, Shipley Woodside and Whitwell, as well as visitors from the Italian coal industry. |
