Administrative History | On 16 October 1930 the Executive Committee of the Miners' Federation of Great Britain (MFGB) agreed to assist Polish trade unionists following a presentation by Herr Stancyk, Secretary of the Polish Miners' Organisation, who gave an account of 'the terrorism and persecution to which the working classes in Poland were at present being subjected by reason of the attempts of the governing classes to control the elections and establish a virtual dictatorship in that country' (MFGB, minutes of Executive Committee, 16 October 1930). |
