DescriptionThis map is described in the Derbyshire Record Society's "A Catalogue of Local Maps of Derbyshire c.1528–1800" (compiled by Harold Nichols, revised by Mary Wiltshire assisted by Susan Woore, published 2012). The description reads as follows:

Copy 'A Survey of houses, barns, gardens in Wirksworth or near ye Town of Wirksworth in the County of Derby. The Estate of the Hon. Sir Philip Gell, by Samuel Hutchinson 1710'. Surveyor: Samuel Hutchinson. Size: 18 x 24 cm. Materials: [photocopy, black and white.] Centred on: SK286539 Notes: compass rose, north at top. A plan of the centre of Wirksworth: plots and house plans numbered with reference table: shows the church, the Crosse, Coldwell Street, New Bridge, Great Hannage, roads and footways, 'Northton End'. Location: original not traced; copy in DRO, D1892 Z/Z1 taken from the Wirksworth Parish Magazine 1899.
